Rather than watching the scheduled webinar for this afternoon’s class, our group worked on the project. We organized how we will present this project to the B. Ed. students, reviewed and selected a sample of curriculum outcomes from the core subject areas, and updated our group blog by adding the outcomes and the brainstorming web. We collaboratively wrote an explanation of the brainstorming web to include in the posting with the web. When brainstorming how we will present this project to the B. ED. students, we decided that it would be beneficial to have the students engaged in the learning process. Thus, we are planning to have the students work in groups to do a short brainstorming session on the subtopics of our project. The purpose of this activity is multifaceted in that (1) they will be active vs. passive learners; (2) even though limited, they will get some experience in working on a project; and (3) it will serve as a demonstration of how different groups or classes of students can take a project/idea into different directions. We used the inspiration software to organize our presentation of the project. This software has so many uses – excellent for the visual learner. We also figured out how to rearrange our blog postings such that the latest posting went to the bottom of the page rather than at the top. It’s so exciting to be learning something new every day.
Absolutely brilliant!!
